I don’t know if it’s payback for dissing X-Men 3 or what, but Fox sure seems to have it out for the fanboys… First the Watchmen fiasco, now Variety is reporting that Fox may force Emily Blunt out of Iron Man 2 to star in their Gulliver’s Travels “reimagining” instead.
See, because of her deal from The Devil Wears Prada, Fox still holds an option on the actress - and they’d like to use it to make sure she plays Jack Black’s Lilliputian love interest. And since Travels starts shooting in late March (in the UK), and Iron Man 2 in early April (in California), it seems Marvel may be back to square one with the Black Widow…
But before you start crying “Boycott!”, you should know that Fox and Blunt’s reps are trying to work out a schedule that would allow the up-and-coming actress to do both. And even if they can’t, hey, look on the bright side, there’s always Olga Kurylenko, right?
